Under new leadership, Microsoft has switched their approach from keeping their software locked into their own platform, to offering its products on Android and iOS.  The first big release from Microsoft was the Microsoft Office app for iOS and Android earlier this year.  Microsoft announced today that their MSN branded apps will go beyond the Windows phone platform, and will now be available on Android in addition to iOS.

The apps include MSN Weather, MSN Health and Fitness, MSN Money, MSN News, MSN Sports, and MSN Food and Drink.  Other apps from Microsoft already available from the Google Play Store are OneDrive(their cloud storage platform), Remote Desktop, OneNote, Xbox One, in addition to many others.

I use the Outlook Web App from Microsoft for my work email and love it, but I won’t be switching to a Windows phone anytime soon.
