Fleksy, one of the more popular keyboard replacements out there as indicated by the 3 million downloads they have had over the past year, announced a major update today. According to Fleksy, although at its heart the app is a keyboard replacement, the company believes users should not have to switch back and forth between apps to do things that can be done via the keyboard.

To facilitate the new features, Fleksy has added a new feature called “Extension” that add functionality to the keyboard. Users will get slots for up to three extensions for free, but additional slots can be purchased. Within each slot, users can activate or deactivate whatever extension they want.

Some of the extensions that are currently available include a GIF extension that gives users the ability to send GIFs as easily as sending an emoji; Launcher, an extension that gives you access to your most frequently used apps right from the keyboard on Android devices; and Keyboard Shortcuts that let you save shortcuts for frequent phrases to be typed out automatically.

Along with the new features, Fleksy is also making several new themes available for their keyboard app.
