Android distrubtion shows KitKat leading as all other versions decline

The latest round of Android distribution numbers is no different than last month’s changes. While continuing to dominate as a whole, Jelly Bean is declining in favor of KitKat. Jelly Bean has finally fell below 50% and KitKat is now approaching 34%. With the release of Lollipop, it is highly unlikely that KitKat will ever surpass Jelly Bean; however, Jelly Bean should continue to see declines and eventually lose its lead.

Actually, all versions of Android are on seeing percentages slide down except for KitKat. Somehow, Froyo is still clinging on with 0.5% but that should be ushered out within the next three months or so because newer versions of Android are much better suited for low-cost devices. Gingerbread is looming around 9% and Ice Cream Sandwich fell below 7.8%.

Expect Android 5.0 Lollipop to arrive on the chart next month when it has had time to be pushed to additional devices.
