Android Authority this week

Night is engulfing the northern hemisphere, but the world of Android is never truly sleeping. This week Google pushed big updates to some of its core apps, we’ve got a peek inside the relationship between Cyanogen and OnePlus, Micromax launched its first Cyanogen OS device, Huawei introduced the camera-centric Honor 6 Plus, Android 5.0.1 rolled out, Android 5.0.2 broke surface, and news emerged about Android M integrating deeper into car dashboards everywhere.

Welcome to Android Authority this week!

Inside AA HQ

We’re moving forward with our plans to get back to podcasting, and in a big way. In early 2015, we may have not one, but two weekly podcasts, one focused on apps, with the great Joe Hindy, and the other on general Android happenings, with the equally great Josh Vergara. We haven’t ironed out the details yet, but know that we’re working hard to bring you even more Android goodness to your eyes and ears.

Other ongoing projects we’re working on these days are the revamped app, that will finally include comment support, and the product database. The database was on the backburner for a while, but Derek is again working on some really cool features for it. Specifically, we’re building a strong user review component, because we believe genuine user feedback is extremely valuable for informing purchase decisions. Hopefully, we’ll get some good news on this front soon.

As always, keep an eye out for our customary Sunday Giveaway. Whether it’s Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, or anything else you like to celebrate, on behalf of everyone at Android Authority, happy holidays!
