android 5.0.1 for the lg g2The roll-out of Android Lollipop to the LG G3 is all but complete so it seems intuitive that LG will start to work on and roll out the new build of Android for its flagship of yesteryear, the LG G2. As it turns out, the Korean manufacturer may have already started that process, if the below screenshot is any indication. In the screenshot allegedly from a LG G2, the device is running Android 5.0.1 of build LRX21Y. While we can’t vouch for the authenticity of the screenshot, we’d definitely think it’s a possibility seeing as LG pushed Android 5.0 to the LG G3 and is now working with the latest version, Android 5.0.1 (or Android 5.0.2 though that doesn’t appear to be commonly available), for its next device update.

android 5.0.1 for the lg g2There weren’t any details regarding the timing of this update, but we’ll be keeping our ears to the ground for the moment when the update is available in Korea, which has proven to be a sure sign that a roll-out is imminent. Just over a year old, the LG G2 was one of the first devices to house the awe-inspiring Snapdragon 800 processor. It’s still no slouch by today’s standards and is actually quite a steal if you can find it cheaply and don’t mind getting used to the back mounted hold and volume buttons.
