Acer-smartphone-Liquid-Jade-S-S56-ComicBlack-mainAcer has announced its first 64-bit Smartphone, the Liquid Jade S, the successor to the Liquid Jade of Q2. The device is a low-to-mid-range smartphone, and wouldn’t be turning and heads if it weren’t for the 1.5 GHz octa-core 64-bit processor housed inside. Besides the processor, the phone boasts a modest 1 GB RAM, less than 720p screen on a 5″ display, and only 8 GB of storage. The camera is a sweet 13 MP though, and all-in-all, the design is attractive and seems easy to hold.

The Jade S will be running Kitkat out of the box, and will most likely be updated to Lollipop shortly after release. The device will be sold for about $225 in Taiwan initially with plans to spread to India shortly.
