Microsoft has finally updated the Skype app for Android smartphone users, who can now push the chat window to the corner of their screen while doing something else on their mobiles.

While Skype’s picture-in-picture feature was already available on Android tablets and computers, it took a while for Microsoft to bring it to smartphones. It was only reasonable of Microsoft to bring Skype’s picture-in-picture feature to Android phones as large-screened handsets are becoming a norm now-a-days. Also, the upgrade has brought a host of new features, including enabling users to receive photos sent from iPhone Skype accounts, formatting text in instant messages and some bug fixes.

Earlier, there were reports saying that Microsoft would be integrated with Skype to enable users to chat while making PowerPoint presentations or working on MS Word documents. Termed as ‘document chat,’ this feature will allow users to communicate and collaborate with others while working online on the same document. you can enable this feature by clicking on the chat button in the upper right corner of the document.
