T-Mobile Rep: Wi-Fi calling routers won’t be in-stores tomorrow

Share

T-Mobile recently announced their latest UnCarrier 7.0 at an event last week that every T-Mobile customer will benefit from. It entails a near free wireless router to enhance your calling experience at home over Wi-Fi – while we do know that this router normally cost a steep $200 if purchased separately on Amazon,  it will cost you $25 down if you decided to grab it at your local T-Mobile store. I know this is exactly what I planned to do tomorrow. Sadly, I just got pinged back from T-Mobile regarding the router and my planned trip to the local store.

T-Mobile says on a Google plus post that they will not have the devices in-store tomorrow, but you will be able to have one sent to you.  Of course this means you have to wait for them to ship it to you or you can call 611 and have an order ready to ship pronto. I imagine that T-Mobile is expecting a rather large volume of customers hankering for the router and it does make some logistical sense to ship them directly to customers houses from their warehouses, despite the fact it would be easier for us to walk straight in, make our purchase and walk out the door though.

Anyone else out there changing their plans now that T-Mobile has alerted to the fact that the stores won’t have them on the shelf? Maybe John was wrong. Either way, be sure to give your store a quick buzz before you burn up time and probably gas to go find out.
