YouTube ‘Add to Device’ to allow offline playback up to 48 hours later

Share

An upcoming update to the YouTube experience will soon allow for offline playback of videos on your smartphone.

Slated to arrive in November, the “Add to Device” feature will let users watch videos in cases where a data connection is not present. You’ll be able to view clips in a window up to 48 hours without running into any issues. Don’t make it in time? Simply reconnect and refresh and you’ll be able to do it all over.

From the sounds of it, you’ll still run into those in-stream ads so don’t look to avoid those startup commercials.
