Best Buy will soon offer customers $100 off for a new iPhone 5c or 5s when they trade in their current smartphone. Customers will be able to get a new 16GB iPhone 5c for free, or a 16GB iPhone 5s for $99, both on contract. The offer will run from this Sunday, October 13, to the following Saturday, October 19. Apparently, any working smartphone will be eligible, says GigaOM:
According to Best Buy, the offer is good for “any working smartphone” as long as it is “free from water damage and screen cracks.” If your old phone is determined to be worth more than $100, Best Buy will give you the difference in the form of a gift card.
While most Best Buy locations won’t begin this deal until Sunday, Best Buy Mobile stores began offering the $100 credit for the iPhone 5c yesterday. It was reported late last week that Best Buy lowered the price of a new iPhone 5c to $50 in a bid to attract more iPhone customers. However, that deal only lasted a couple of days. Customers looking to take advantage of the new promotion to get a 5s should be prepared to get a rain check from Best Buy due to low stock on certain models.
