How to disable Lock screen access to Notification Center in iOS 7

In iOS 7 you can now natively pull down Notification Center from the Lock screen and view everything you have on your agenda for the day and all the notifications that have filtered in. While it’s convenient, some users may not like having all this information accessible to anyone who may get ahold of their iPhone or iPad.

There’s an easy way to disable access to Notification Center from the Lock screen in iOS 7. Here’s how:

  • Launch the Settings app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap on Notification Center.
  • Under the Access on Lock Screen section, you have two options for Notifications View and Today View. Turn these to Off in order to completely disable access to Notification Center from the Lock screen of your iPhone or iPad.
  • That’s all there is to it. You can always customize these settings if you’d like. For example, if you want to see the today view but don’t want notifications to show on the Notification Center pull down, just turn off the Notifications View option. If you’d like the opposite, just enable the option for Today View and not Notifications View.

That’s all there is to it! iOS will now obey whatever Notification Center options you have configured for your iPhone or iPad’s Lock screen.
