Share

Twitter pushed out an update to their Android and iOS apps today that brings in two-factor authentication that can be managed directly from the apps. Giving faithful users of Twitter an extra layer of security to their accounts.

Two-factor security for TwitterWith the new two-factor step, you will get a push notification to your device vs a text message with a 6 digit pin. The notification lets you approve or deny the log-in request. Each login attempt includes details on browser and location on where it is trying to be accessed. Don’t fret if you don’t have your phone on you at the time, or you are trying to be sneaky at work and can’t access your device. When you first enable the security feature you will receive a backup code to write down and keep so that you can login on computer that you haven’t given access to yet.

Along with the new two-factor authentication, Twitter also implemented a new gallery view for photos in search results. Of course there are other various bug fixes and improvements as well.

If security is a big concern for you, you might want to pick up this update and go set it up. Hit the Play Store or just click the link below.
