Google patent aimed at app launch pattern Unlock

Share

A lot of people have concerns about the security of their information and their device. Often putting pin codes or pattern unlocks on their device. Having kids I can understand the need for it, but I am not important enough to care if someone gets into my phone. I am never without my device, and I check for it in my pocket or where ever I have stashed it every few minutes. It is a bit of an addiction. My primary issue with pin or pattern unlocks is that you lose the quick app launch aspect of a traditional lockscreen.  It looks like Google has been thinking up a way to give those who need and want a pattern unlock a way to unlock the device into an app.

Pattern Unlock Android Google PatentA new patent has emerged that shows how a pattern unlock and launching into an would work out. Doesn’t need much explaining really, do your pattern and pull to the app you want to open into. The filing doesn’t give any light on if the apps will customizable or predetermined. It does mention that the action that is to be opened will not be visible during the unlock. This new security addition could make its way to another minor 4.3 update, but we are thinking it will be more of a Key Lime Pie feature.

What do you guys think? How many of you use a pin or pattern unlock to gain access to your device? Let us know your thoughts down below.
