Pacific Rim, an official game tie-in with the new movie by Guillermo del Toro, has been unleashed upon the App Store, pitting you and your Jaeger robot against powerful Kaiju monsters in an effort to save the world. The game features both a story mode, which follows the basic plot of the film over the course of thirty levels, along with a survival mode, which pits you against wave after wave of giant monsters.
Players have access to five different Jaegers, the giant robots that humanity uses to combat the Kaiju threat. Each Jaeger has different weapons that can be upgraded in order to better fight the Kaiju. Pacific Rim also lets you research new technologies that increase the speed, power, and durability of your Jaegers. Pacific Rim is available for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad as a universal app for $4.99.
