The monthly Android distribution figures are out today and they show Jelly Bean jumping out to a 37.9 percent share of the pie. Contrast that with one month ago and the 33 percent and you see some moderate gains. Finally, after more than one year of existence, Android 4.1 and 4.2 hold the lion’s share of the platform.
While Android 2.3 Gingerbread was the king of the hill for much of the last few years, 4.2 Jelly Bean now wears the crown. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich also saw its numbers dip a bit, going from 25.6 percent to 23.3 percent.
In order of most popular (used) versions of Android:
- Jelly Bean (4.1/4.2)
- Gingerbread (2.3)
- Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0)
- Froyo (2.2)
- Eclair (2.1)
- Honeycomb (3.0)/Donut (1.6)
