A bunch of top paid iPhone and iPad apps have just gone free in the App Store. The Verge is speculating it might have something to do with a larger App Store 5th anniversary promotion. If so, we’ll just hope the participating developers are getting something of value out of it, and leave you to grab as many of the newly free apps as you can, while the sale lasts.
So far we’re seeing games the likes of Infinity Blade 2, Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery EP, Where’s my Water, Badland, Tiny Wings all go free, as well as apps Day One, Traktor DJ, Over and Barefoot World Atlas.
In the case of Traktor DJ for iPad, the regular price is $19.99, so there’s a massive saving to be had if you’ve been on the fence about downloading it. None of these apps have been free before, but as yet there’s no announcement of any variety from Apple, but there’s every chance it could be linked to the impending anniversary. Have you noticed any other paid apps that have suddenly, mysteriously gone free? Drop them into the comments below!
