Today, the Paranoid Android team released version 3 of their very popular ROM. Of course, it does include Pie, which I went over in a video a little while back. Right now the Paranoid Android team is only officially supporting the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and the Galaxy Nexus. Most of you with one of those devices have probably either ran it in the past or are running it now.

For those that don’t know what Paranoid Android is, it’s a custom ROM bringing hybrid support to the Nexus family. They use what they call Hybrid Engine. Now many believe that this is “tablet mode” but it actually isn’t. The Hybrid Engine allows you to change the size and layout of apps per app. So for instance you can have the 10-inch tablet version of YouTube and keep the phone sized version of Falcon Pro. In the settings you are allowed to change the dpi and layout, you can also change app colors. Which I went over in my review of Paranoid Android a few months ago.

We talked earlier in this post about PIE. That’s Paranoid Android’s newest feature that’s gaining a ton of buzz right now. When the feature was first released into the nightly builds for the Nexus 7, I downloaded and flashed it to check it out and did a short video about it which is shown above. It’s awesome, and I would even call it innovative. Nevertheless, it is included in Paranoid Android 3 and builds should be available on XDA and also on GooManager, for these four Nexus devices.

If you need help flashing Paranoid Android, I did a short tutorial not to long ago about how to flash PA on my Nexus 7 using Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) as my recovery, you can check that out below.

So who’s going to be flashing some Paranoid Android tonight? Let us know in the comments if you do and how much you like it.
