ASUS will reportedly introduce a low cost 7-inch Android tablet in the second quarter, advises Bulgarian tech site Tablet.bg. How low cost? Well, the phrase “ultra-budget” is being tossed around so we’re hoping for the all-attractive $199 barrier.
Additional details are rumored to include 1GB RAM, an Intel Atom Z2420 dual-core processor, microSD expansion slot, and 3-megapixel rear camera. Said to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the ME371MG should feature a 7-inch 1280×800 IPS screen, a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, and 4,270 mAh battery.
Sales are expected to begin in the second quarter however there’s a strong chance that the ASUS tablet could debut at Mobile World Congress.
