Google‘s engineer Frank Petterson announced via his Google+ profile that the search engine giant has rolled out the Google+ iOS mobile app for 48 new locations. The Google+ iOS app for the new countries and territories can now be nabbed via the App Store or iTunes. This follows the app’s initial launch in the middle of last year.
The 48 new markets include both countries and territories. Users across the world have gained access to the mobile app, with it now being available in Albania, Anguilla, Barbados, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Cayman Islands, Chad, Republic of Congo, Dominica, and much more.
According to its App Store page, the app is optimized for the iPad, making navigation simple. The Google+ app supports up to 9-person video chats via Hangouts, while photos can be configured to automatically upload to an album on the social network. Likewise, photographs can be sent straight to friends via Events.
Given that it is an iOS app, the latest version offers support for Retina display. There’s the integrated chat messenger that is popular with many users, while users can stream and share webcam video feeds directly with other people. The app is free to download, and requires iOS 5 or higher; it weighs in at just under 20MB.
