File sharing coming to all Facebook Groups

Share

File sharing Beyond Group for School:

Facebook has planned that file sharing will be brought to all Facebook groups. So that members will be able to send the files to one another. You will be updated if I’ll get more information about it as I have approached Facebook for it. A facebook representative spoke in his statement: “we begin to start file sharing for the different groups, before that, we started this for School Groups but now we have planned to make its availability more vast and broad. Currently it covers only a small percent age but soon, we are going to level it to all the groups.”

Introducing New Features:

Meanwhile, Mashable said that this new aspect and characteristic of facebook is going to start today to a small population of groups and in the coming days ahead, we will roll the out to all the groups left. You can say that it is a progressive beginning as it happens with all the other attributes of Facebook.

As mentioned in screenshots, the facebook users will be able to upload the files up to the size of 25 MB. It depends on you what kind of files you want to upload exclusively as executable and music files have not been allowed to this feature. The report can be submitted by the users about illegal sharing of files and content on this site, as Facebook relies on its users. For me, it is a formula of catastrophe.

A Feasible System:

The previous month, Facebook introduced Groups for Schools, where we talked about this feature. At that time, I wrote: Facebook wants that file sharing should come to the groups so that sharing lecture notes, classroom assignment and sports programs and schedules would be much easier and feasible this way. Now it seems that every group will be having the same feature.

Contribution by the CEO of Facebook:

I remember from this, the co-founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg: Wirehog as he has worked on a number of projects before he made a decision to develop a huge social network of the world.

Friend to friend program for file sharing was Wirehog by which people were allowed to move and shift files to computers directly. Andrew McCollum, Mark Zuckerberg, Adam D’Angelo, and Sean Parker worked and built Wirehog in Palo Alto. It was described as file transfer program of HTTP with the use of DNS and NAT traversal that will make your personal computers available, approachable and routable with ease.

Wirehog, Incorporated With Facebook:

Wirehog was launched in Oct, 2004, which was accessible only if a member sends invitation.  Previously, it was intended to be an incorporated attribute of Facbook  but it was in use of those people as well who weren’t using Facebook. After that, Facebook and Wirehog were included in each other as Wirehog had the information that who are your facebook friends which assured that your files are visible to only those who are included in your network.  Wirehog written in Python, was reachable for only Microsoft Window and Mac OS X, with an unreleased version called Linux
