comScore: Android inches forward as smartphone sales slow

Android is still the king of the hill when it comes to smartphone market share, according to the newest comScore report.  At 52.5 percent of the U.S. market, Android is up ever so slightly with .9 percent growth since June.  Even as it remains virtually unchanged, it did well enough to beat out Apple who comes in second with 34.3 percent. Bewteen these two platforms, they are up 2.8 percent while the bottom three are down the same percentage.

To be completely fair, there’s next to no iPhone 5 impact on this study and the overall slowing is likely a result of consumers holding on to their devices longer.  That, and waiting for the new iPhone or next, big Android.
