New Optimus G Nexus details suggest wireless charging, no microSD

Share

New details have emerged surrounding the so-called LG Optimus G Nexus smartphone ahead of its rumored fall debut. MoDaCo Forums’s is today reporting some of the hardware goods (or bads?) for the next Pure Google experience.  According to their sources, the handset is based on the Optimus G but will not have the same physical appearance.  Most of the specs line up with the recently-introduced device save for a few tweaks.  Some will love the wireless charging out of the box while others will loathe the storage capacity and non-removable battery and lack of microSD expansion.

  • Quad Core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 1280×768 True-HD IPS screen
  • On screen soft keys (of course)
  • 8 Megapixel Camera
  • No microSD slot
  • 8GB and 16GB versions only (at least initially)
  • Non-removable battery
  • Wireless charging built in

While we’re on the subject, you ought to check out our podcast from last night where we discuss the hardware of the Nexus device of 2012-2013.  Listen to The Nexus Ultimatum and hear what we value in terms of features and minimum expectations.  Would we trade off battery over storage or expansion?  Tune in to find out!
