There are plenty of alternative keyboard apps out there that each has their own little benefits or perks. Choice is a good thing to have when it comes to your preferred keyboard on your device. One might work out great for one person and their typing style while that same keyboard could be the bane of someone else existence. One keyboard replacement that has been around for some time is SwiftKey. The company announced a pretty major update today that is said to improve a multitude of things across the board.
Today’s update to the app moves it to version 5.0.2.4. With the update SwiftKey states that they have improved a number of things as well as fixed some very annoying bugs.

- Improved some translations
- Improved keyboard loading time
- Improved Flow performance
- Fix for the bottom row being hidden in some devices
- Fixed Yahoo! personalization
- Fixed background disappearing issue in some themes
- Fixed some other force closes and crashes
SwiftKey’s press release this morning states that some users will see better performance than others depending on a variety of factors. They are still working on solving the lag issues that some user have been reporting where you are out typing what is being showing up on the screen.
Along with the update to the actual keyboard SwiftKey has announced 5 new themes in the SwiftKey store for your customization enjoyment. The 5 new themes are Spotlight Purple, Edge Green, Pulse Yellow, Pulse Pink and Hazy Pink. To top off the theme section they are also offering up 33% off individual themes and 5 packs of themes too.
To round out the news, SwiftKey will be adding in Kyrgyz, Tajik and Turkmen languages to the keyboard and six other languages( Arabic, Czech, Greek, Hebrew, Polish and Russian) will be getting emoji prediction.
