LG has announced a new Android based tablet dubbed as the Tab Book 11TA740-GA50K. This model is a hybrid between a laptop and a tablet. The Tab Book line-up was launched a while ago which was based on Windows 8.1 and now, they have developed its Android variant. The Tab Book is powered by a 2.6 GHz 4th Gen Intel Core i5 4200U processor, has 4GB of RAM, 128GB Solid Slate Drive (SSD) and a row of ports including two USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI port.

The LG Tab Book offers Android users a little more zing and productivity options with its 11.6-inch 1080p display and an inbuilt keyboard. It also boasts a ‘Reader Mode’ which reduces the display’s brightness to ensure comfortable document reading experience.  It’s quite puzzling to see an older version of Android (v4.2.2 Jelly Bean) on the Tab Book though.

At 1.05 kilograms of weight and 16.7mm thickness, the Tab Book 11TA740-GA50K is one of thickest Android tablets released till date. However, the thickness can be justified as there’s not only a keyboard included, but also the entrails of a regular laptop. There’s no word on pricing or availability from LG yet but we will be keeping a close watch on its future developments.
