HTC is back with some new smartphones, and this time with a trio. They introduced the HTC Desire 700, Desire 501, and a dual-SIM version of the Desire 601. The devices are launched in the hometown of HTC, which is Taiwan. All of them are mid-range devices, but the prices might make you put your wallet down. Let’s go through each of them one by one.

Desire 700 comes with a 5-inch 540×960 touchscreen, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, an 8 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front camera, 8 GB of internal storage, microSD card support, HSPA, dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a 2,100 mAh battery. It is running on Android 4.1 – and we are now seeing devices with Android 4.4, so 4.1 is considered really old now. About the price, it will cost you around 13,900 Taiwan dollars, which is around $469 or €344 – so it seems like a hefty price for a device with a low resolution and out-dated software.

The Android version is unclear at the moment, but probably its the same as the Desire 700. It will be available for 9,900 Taiwanese dollars ($334, €245), which seems as a decent price.

The Dual-SIM Desire 601 is the same as its original model. It will be available in Taiwan next month, and we don’t know whether we will see these devices in other markets. Although, I think HTC is just targeting their home ground with these devices, because in US or UK market, the competition is really tough and these devices are a little pricey.

So, what do you think? Would you grab one?
