We can’t say this is much of a surprise; the HTC First will not be arriving in the U.K. anytime soon. After receiving less than stellar feedback for the U.S. launch of the HTC First, the social network giant has scrapped plans to launch the device across the pond.  OK, not officially scrapped, but indefinitely postponed.

“Following customer feedback, Facebook has decided to focus on adding new customization features to Facebook Home over the coming months. While they are working to make a better Facebook Home experience, they have recommended holding off launching the HTC First in the UK, and so we will shortly be contacting those who registered their interest with us to let them know of this decision. Rest assured, we remain committed to bringing our customers the latest mobile experiences, and we will continue to build on our strong relationship with Facebook so as to offer customers new opportunities in the future.” – Statement from EE

When Facebook announced the Facebook Home experience we were told that there would be monthly updates. Seeing as the most recent update (as of today) is May 21, we’re guessing that minor updates will likely be what’s on the radar for now.

Reportedly, those who pre-ordered the Facebook First in the UK will be refunded their money and have orders cancelled.
