Last month we reported that LG was to release a replacement for the original Lucid, and thanks to geek.com, we are happy to announce the LG Lucid 2 will be in Verizon stores (and Walmart locations) on April 4th.

LG has updated the Lucid 2 to a Snapdragon S4 and Qualcomm’s newer MSM8960 chipset. They have also replaced the 4-inch 480 x 800 display with a 4.3-inch AH-IPS display with a native resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. According to geek.com, the Lucid 2 will have a sharper 1.3MP front-facing camera, and LG is also providing a much better battery. Last year’s Lucid could provide an estimated 8 hours of talk time from its 1700mAh battery. The Lucid 2 come with a 2460mAh Silicon Oxide battery that should just about triple that time. LG will also be providing an inductive charging backplate for the phone. The Lucid 2 can also handle microSD cards up to 64GB, and it will ship with Android 4.1.2 pre-installed.

Of course all of these specs are quite interesting, but the best part is the price. The current Lucid is available for free on a two-year deal through Verizon, but the new model is a steal at only $1.
